Elephant in the Willow is from my Post Israel time period. Willows are my favorite tree - their wisdom, grace, magic as they reach down to the ground with their light swaying leaves. I LOVE the way light looks as it extends itself through leaves, occasionally creating sun bursts like the one in this painting. The original painting has gold leaf, holographic glitter and gold ink, making it shimmer in the sun. The elephant was added last and created a moment where the tree trunk and elephant trunk is spraying out light through the leaves.
